justtakemetothemusicalready Picking one favorite is difficult because the album feels like one complete work. Court is excellent at taking the listener on what I can only call the most sublime emotional roller coaster, but you have a VR headset that lets you pick the filter you see the surroundings on the ride. Favorite track: Basic Properties of Sight.

I find it's just a waste Trying to make things clear Trying to explain myself again And if it's all the same It's always been the same We're always making The same mistakes again People come and go They never stay too long With one foot out the door They say goodbye And if it's all a waste Well, maybe I'm to blame I couldn't keep the pace Or say goodbye And if I fall too fast I might forget your name I might forget your first impression's old And if I go too far I might forget your breath I might forget your heart beats soft and low

The Basement 03:12
Thoughts of intervention Left me floating in oceans Foreign to me now This could go all night You know I could go all night Tales of indiscretion Leave me with notions And I can't see you from the shore "Don't you follow me You don't Have to follow me" It's only in your head The oceans burning red I followed you downstairs I thought you'd open up there But I was wrong To call on you To draw on time spent fighting me Spent watching you I won't follow you But don't you know Half of me was you It's only sometimes now The ocean's empty now I followed you downstairs I thought you'd open up There you go again And I don't know What to do with you What to do It's nothing real now But that's nothing new I could stand in oceans deep And drown with you

Monster 04:42
Put on your face in the bathroom Laugh when the pain starts to get to you What you hide in your heart is a monster And you've gotta find out how to stop her How many cards do you have left to play? And how many more did you have yesterday? Will you die on this hill from the inside? Will you run from her until you cannot hide? How much is enough to forget your Selfish lack of love for yourself And when will you give up Trying to sell what you should have been Giving away Wait to find out if it's over tonight Wait to find out if the monster was right Will you die on this hill that you have made? Will you run from her until there's no escape? How much is enough to forget your Selfish lack of love for yourself And when will you give up Trying to sell what you should have been Giving away When you go it alone, it's a lifetime When you go it alone, it's a lifetime When you go it alone, it's a lifetime When you go it alone, it's a lifetime

Deal in dreams and stake me on them Crawling back into the ring somehow My head is bleeding from the shock The curtains falling to the blue Are covering up the spots Where I was falling to the ground Too slow to stop My head is reeling from the sight Can't hear the screams over the fight One survivor tells the tale Of millions dead And millions more to come The sequel's better than the first The focus clearer now You don't have to go You don't have to go Just say so I can go alone I can go alone I can go alone Just say so The basic properties of sight You look at me and close your eyes You can tell me no You can tell me no Just say so You don't wanna go You don't wanna go You don't wanna go Just say so You don't wanna go So change out of your cheap disguise Don't let the mourning out of sight Soldiers climbing up the hill Don't raise their flags until they spill The blood of men and children's bones Are laid out on the ground And screaming Don't get up Don't get up Don't get up But you won't give up No, don't get up No, don't get up No, don't get up But you won't give up No, you won't give up No, you won't give up No, you won't give up No, you won't give up

I'll sell you what you need And send you on your way You'll do the same for me Some other time and day You can't believe your eyes But that's a kind of grace You'll learn to love the lies That keep things in their place They keep things in their place They keep you in your Round here we do things right And watch the things we say We lock our doors at night But that's all just in case Somebody lost his mind And wanted to escape You're gonna be just fine You're gonna love this place You're gonna love this place You're gonna love Your crime is what you waste Diamonds on a silver ashtray Your timing's out of pace These days you'd better Look the other way It's awful in this place It's awful in this place It's awful in this place It's awful in this place It's awful in this place It's awful in this place It's awful in this place It's awful in this place

Common Sense 04:18
In time you'll say you know the way But time will tell me everything You tried to hide with words You let yourself forget yourself In ways I can't Believe me when I tell you That I've tried The time will come The time will come Will I become a cybernetic Man-machine? Will I still know the weight Of my own hands? Will we still hate the radiating Heat from the streets That take me far away To distant lands? How will your eyes find me When there's so much to see And will you notice if I sleep? We'll wake in symphonies That make it hard to breathe And when we're loaded We'll weep Well I was raised to always face My own worst fears But now they seem a lot like Common sense Protect yourself, forget yourself And do what you should Somehow you know that This is for the best How will your eyes find me When there's so much to see And will you notice if I sleep? We'll wake in symphonies That make it hard to breathe And when we're loaded We'll weep When we're loaded We'll weep And when we're loaded We'll weep

You Are Here 03:14
Darling You'll be here and then you'll go You don't even know What you want to know But you keep asking Child of mine Will you know your heart from head After all is done And all is said Daylight is passing I have been wandering Waiting for something to end That I might start again Love of mine Will you come and take my hand I don't even know How I ought to stand If not by your side And darling, oh This river will ever flow And with its waters You and I must go Until we arrive Are you still wondering Where does my suffering end And where does yours begin You'll be here and then you'll go

Never Known 03:32
Darling, why don't you just come back to bed I don't know what's got you so wrapped up in your head Put down your hopes and your fears and all your dread Darling, why don't you just come back to bed I might have never known I might have never known I might have never known What you were going through Don't spend another good night wondering if Death is a beautiful thing but it's not a gift I don't know if they believe what they said But darling, why don't you just come back to bed They might have never known They might have never known They might have never known What you are going through Sun's coming up on a bright blessed day So take all your nightmares and hide them away I don't know if you'll believe what I say But I'm just so glad you've decided to stay We might have never known We might have never known The world might have never known What you are gonna do
12.
It was a long night Eyes open wide try as I might Hoping to hear something call Out of sight It's been a long day My head understands but I feel afraid Keep looking back but I can't See your face So take this broken jar and fill it up With something we've all got But don't have enough of And hide yourself from things that hurt too much That want you to grow up Just like the rest of us So just let your guard down The things that would hurt you won't come now And you couldn't save yourself From them anyhow All those songs we sing to save ourselves The ones we sing so well When everything goes to hell Will they have a story left to tell If nobody else will Why should we lie down and be still Why keep our hands at our sides While it spills And all of the ground filled Fighting for nothing except the thrill You can't see the line when you're King of the kill Lights are burning in their broken eyes Coming up slowly Until it's overflowing Cast your crown into the fire now And let it all burn up Just like the rest of us Oh, we will
